Zarathustra (Zoroaster) (the wisemen are assumed to be Zoroastrians because of their knowledge of the stars) spoke of the struggle of Light and Darkness in his writing: The Zend Avesta. It is older than the Vedas of Ancient India or writings of ancient Egypt. See the effect of Matter, Life, and Wisdom in your life." This work has been misinterpreted by historians as merely an archaic belief: for how could people be so foolish to believe that there is duality in the universe! Yet the Christian churches still believe in the struggle of God and the devil. What is so different? Actually the important lesson that should be learned from his teaching is that directions always reverse. You may embark in a path and then that path turns around and sometimes you never realize. See how love turns to hate or man/woman turns to an animal. Spiritual growth requires the ability to spot the change in direction. In this way you will see the highs in ones life to be as temporary as the lows and the greatest depression, in the blink of an eye, will turn to joy! All you have to do is wait as the Captain did on the spaceship Karnak in Gurdjieff's writings.
This game is similar to life in that everything is based on chance. As in life, your power comes from knowing which chance to take or which door to open at which time. You can tip the scales of the universe and help Light overcome Darkness. At the same time you can turn your life to good fortune!
Instructions for the Game:
By clicking once with the mouse on the
face-down pile of 32 cards, you can turn cards over successively
which will alternate to the two card piles above. You can accept the two
cards shown above by clicking once on either one of these cards, if you
want their values to be compared (Light is a white card, Darkness is a
black card.) If the two cards shown are equal, by clicking once on either
one, you can eliminate them from the game. (This is often advantageous
for cards that cannot be easily beaten.) In the situation where they are
not equal, by clicking once on either one, the cards will be placed
on the Light pile (to the left) or the Darkness pile (to the right) depending
on which number is higher (the card with the highest number captures the
other card and their totals become negative if captured by Darkness or
positive if captured by Light. (Strategy would be to wait until an advantageous
match shows up, but do not wait too long for when the face-down pile
is gone you will have to accept all the matches that are left above without
any choice.)
Each conflict of cards is show above, except for equal value cards. At the end of the game, your final fortune will be shown.
By playing this game you will begin to understand the intricacies of Zarathustra's teaching namely the fact that existence is more than the struggle of Light and Darkness, but the internal struggle of the three forces:
Preserver (Matter), Life
(Organic Life), and Wisdom which form
the universe of Light that began when God
said, "Let there be light."
Preserver is derived from the Sun,
Water, and Air
which are the Earth.
Life is derived from Food,
Health, and Man-Woman
which are Joy.
Wisdom is derived from Work,
Love, and Peace
which are Power.
Matter pulls us down, Life pulls us up, and Wisdom results from the struggle. This is the same as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Enjoy, and always strive to keep your life and your actions in the Light for that is where the Power of Eternal Light resides.
Note: That you should hide all navigation bars first in order to have
enough room.
Also be patience while the game loads.
(This game was inspired by the translation of the Zend Avesta by Edmond Bordeaux Szekely, I.B.S. Internacional, Box 205, Matsqui, B.C., Canada VOX 1SO. They also have a similar card game, but with different rules. Also the interpretations are mine.)
